Radical Love

We learn to love the devils that hold the whip against us,

We mistake them as gods, accepting the laws they pass

We turn our backs on our family,

dying to reach the heaven they claim is within our reach

We kill for their approval.

When are we going to learn that if we love ourselves

we'll see the chains they hold against us

When we love ourselves

we'll see they won't accept us

When we love ourselves

we'll see our brothers and sisters they bid against us.

We'll see the system that keep us from uniting.

We'll see that we're more alike with the ones they put on the bottom of the hierarchy,

the ones they told you to hate,

The ones they want us to hate ourselves so we forget to hate them,

So we won't overthrow them

To unlock the ultimate love means dismantling the powers that be.

This boss level have nutten pon wi when wi get there.

We bunning down patriarchy

We bunning down homophobia

We bunning down transphobia

We bunning down ableism

We bunning down racism

We bunning down colourism

We bunning down capitalism

We bunning down imperialism

These are the dragons we must fight as we are our own Prince Charming of love

(She/her) I'm a Jamaican (born, raised, currently reside) queer, intersectional-radical-feminist, anti-capitalist.

These poems fall under the theme Radical Love In The Time Of Corona because they were inspired by all the fights against injustices that we are made more aware of because of the lack of access that happens in marginalised groups such as in health care centers. These are only effects of colonialism, capitalism, patriarchy, racism etc.. These poems were also inspired by the theories and works of feminist activists Audre Lorde, Stacey-Ann Chin, Angela Y. Davis, and Bell Hooks.
