Studies from Flamingoes on Parade

"Studies from Flamingoes on Parade" are samples from a collage that was created as a part of my visual poem and chapbook, Flamingoes on Parade. Each of the collage compositions is based on the flamingo as a symbol of national and ecological vulnerability that Caribbean nation states face due to larger imperial pressures from the United States.

This collage also draws on the parallels of danger and violence that our region faces from our imperial neighbours, comparable to what other oppressed people and nations, such as Palestine and Lebanon, face from countries like Israel.
