Hung their faces down as we

Entered the grey snow-capped yard. 

Counted twelve pairs of feet 

Little eyes peered through the dust.

Each hopeful stare cut deep.

Ahead the supervisor gave the all clear 

Now adult feet shuffled toward us

Unaware that the five gallon river water is

Prepped for cleaning
