Prideful Healing: Wellness in the Queeribbean with Dr. Alisa Alvis

A virtual healing space where queer Caribbean women can reflect on personal and collective experiences of wellness and trauma, using the concept of “Queeribbean” identity to explore how colonialism, heteronormativity, and systemic oppression impact well-being. The session will explore frameworks like healing justice, disability justice, and continuous traumatic stress disorder (CTSD), fostering community, and liberation.

Alisa Alvis (they/she) is a School and Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Alvis has been a therapist for over 15 years with experience in the Caribbean, UK, USA, and Canada. They work in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment as Clinical Psychologist and Director of Mental Health Services in St. Vincent.
